The theme of the Babies Shower was Winnie the Pooh.   Juhl made a  "Hundred Aker Wood" sign for the front yard. Because he's like that! I tried this entire weekend to post and couldn't.  We had a family get together in Fort Collins and Erik and Liz were here from Friday, May 19th  to Monday, May 22nd.  And I left both laptops at home.  I started four times on my phone and each time I got about four lines completed and something popped up on my screen.  As soon as the blog writer isn't the top screen, it erases everything that is on it.  I've got to come up with a better solution for when I have to use my phone.   We originally had three events planned for the weekend.  Jere's son Robert and his wife Liz Porter (they are going by Liz's maiden name) are having twins on July 11th.  Saturday was the family babies shower.  Sunday was originally planned to be the Spring Family Birthday party, but it was decided it was going to be too much, too quickly.  Fina

I decided that I would stop at April and start again in May because I'm so far behind and it didn't make sense to make the last one longer.  So here goes. Selling the motorhome:  I talked about happy and sad in the last blog.  This was one of them.  I took the motorhome out on several outings in the fall of 2021 after Sally died.  Then in the spring of 2022, I took two long trips to Las Vegas and Phoenix  and to Minnesota, pulling the car behind on all of them.  And two things struck me, one, It was too big for one person, and two, while it was comfortable to be in it, it really felt lonesome without Sally in it.  And maybe also, after nine years of ownership, I was ready for a change.  So I bought the RAM truck and the Outdoors RV 21RBS (made in La Grange, OR!) last July.  I didn't want to do a trade-in at that time, primarily because there were a few repairs to be made.  However, I couldn't find anyone in Laramie to do the repairs, so it sat next to the driveway, li

YCGL - Wednesday, May 3, 2023 - Back and Forth, Like Life, through April

The past weeks have been busy and filled with the happy and sad of life.  Its been two weeks since I checked in last and that was longer than I wanted to go, so let's dig in to it. Saturday, April 22 is a good starting point.  That night was the ARK Regional Services Banquet and Casino night.  ARK is an incredible organization that works with people with intellectual disabilities and acquired brain injuries.  We've had several friends who have been clients there and the services they provide are unbelievable.  They say they "have been facilitating opportunities for people to Live, Learn, Work and Play in Wyoming since 1963."  Two ARK residences were built on our block and a block north soon after we built our house in 1981 and clients walk back and forth between the houses with their supervisors all the time.  The banquet is one of their major fund raisers with live and silent auctions and (obviously) a casino night.   Actually, it started before that.  In April, I re
